The Great Divide Mountainbike Expedition
Silver City - Lordsburg
Gila Cliff Dwellings - The cave protected the inhabitants against the heat, the cold and the rain as well
1Cacti can be found everywhere
2Gila Cliff Dwelligs - A view back from the trail leading down to the canyon
3Mountains and creek of the Gila Wilderness
4The wet weather remained with us ...
5for another day at Silver City campground
6We started at about five o'clock a.m. for our long ride to Hachita
7Al's riding at very high speed in the cold before sunrise
8It's still cold, but the sun already paints the clouds and the desert
9A short break to enjoy the wide view ...
10It seems to have many more long ups and short downs to go
13Enjoy the difference: The airplane with its 500 or more miles per hour and we, reaching about 8 to 12 of them under very good riding conditions
14But - biking gives you the opportunity and time to stop whenever you like, ...
15to have a closer look at this wonderful life of the dry plains ...
16and to take some pictures to show all people at home how great this landscapes really are
17Having a closer look to the heart of a Yucca
18Running back to the road to be ready ...
19to get some more pictures ...
20very last hill before ...
23riding down more than 20 miles ...
24But most of the time ...
26it lasts a lot longer ...
27But at the end of this long and hot ride we reached Lordsburg for a nice meal
33Leaving Lordsburg on Highway Number 10 - Unfortunately there was no other road to go for Hachita
