Dass es in Montana riesige Wälder gibt, war schon vom Flugzeug aus zu sehen.
Für die nächsten drei Wochen verschwinden wir darin. Begegnungen mit Tieren, vom Hirsch über den Elch bis hin zu Bären und einem Puma sind hier nichts Ungewöhliches.
Das Verfahren, dass immer zwei Personen für einen Tag und die ganze Gruppe einkaufen und kochen, bewährt sich. Es ist angenehm, sich nur einmal pro Woche damit befassen zu müssen.
Auch die Art, wie wir reisen, sagt mir zu. Am Abend legen wir jeweils gemeinsam den Übernachtungsort für den nächsten Tag fest. Jeder fährt dann alleine oder zusammen mit anderen selbstgewählten Partnern dort hin. Da ich gerne früh morgens radle und bereits um halb fünf Uhr in der Frühe aufstehe, bin ich meistens allein unterwegs.
