Immer geradeaus und durch tiefen Sand geht es auf dem Bahndamm in Richtung Wise River. Die Fahrt ist eintönig, das Vorankommen schwer.
Etwas Abwechslung bieten die Viehverladestationen und die mich wegen Ihrer Technik und Architektur interessierenden Holzbrücken der ehemaligen Bahnlinie.
Das wie eine antike Pfeilspitze aussehende Eisenteil, das mir kurz vor dem Tagesziel den hinteren Reifen zerschneidet, stellt sich bei näherer Betrachtung als profaner Überrest eines Schwellennagels der ehemaligen Bahn heraus.
Phantastische Ausblicke ins Tal des Wise River am Abend dieses Tages.
Der nächste Tag führt durch das für seine Kartoffeln berühmte IOWA und mitten hinein in das Gebiet der berühmten Nationalparks Yellowstone und Tetons Range.
